The story behind the Founder & CEO
Anwar R. Kaluti
It all started when I shadowed my father “Ragheb Kaluti” in my early days. I have always looked up to him as my role model. I was a very driven young man and always had the curiosity to learn new things and push the limits. While I was doing my studies in university, I had the privilege to accompany him to work which was another life school itself.
My Father, Ragheb was a very wise man well known for importing goods from Europe to Jerusalem , Jordan & Dubai back in the days. Starting from meat products , auto parts, shoes and carpets trading. He was always striving towards big goals and willing to try everything to keep his family together. Over the years, he decided on focusing on machine made carpet importing, as it was more beneficiary than importing the other goods.
After my father’s passing, My brothers and I wanted keep his vision and strong desire to penetrate the carpet industrial sector and yarn manufacturing.
So I took what he started and decided to take the carpet business to another level. Since then, my brothers and I have started our path in the carpet and yarn industry. In 1987, “Arab Weavers Factory” was established.
After I got the factory successfully up and running. i started to think that i personally need to start a new business. After the American invasion of Iraq in the 2004. It was a hint from God and it was the right time to start my real estate business. Real estate prices hit the ground and I took advantage of this opportunity . So i started buying lands , building and investing. After success in the real estate market i wanted to share this success with my brothers and sisters as well , so we invested together in so many properties. “Kaluti Properties” was established to include real estate developments, contracting, land trading and hotel management. After leaving a clear imprint on the Jordanian real estate market, Kaluti Properties has gone global and expanded to United Arab Emirates and Canada.
Looking back to my father’s accomplishments and how he prepared my brothers and I to face what we call “ Wisdom and Reality of Life”. I have always wanted to make sure I do the same for my own. Always feeling blessed and grateful, I have built an empire of my own where my children and grandchildren will walk in their grandfather’s steps.
However, that was not the only reason behind my vision. I have always wanted to give back to the community because I have always believed in the saying “What we are is God’s gift to us.“and I took that as my motto in life. Consequently, I have built mosques and established charity centers, multiple housing developments to those in need and cultural & community learning centers for developing youth skills to create a new generation of leaders.
